Our members are the coolest – and we’re not just saying that.
There is a completely diverse group of entrepreneurs, business professionals, creatives and small business owners inside Halcyon. One of our favorite ways to get a more in-depth view of what our members do is inviting them to be our Member Spotlight! September’s Spotlight is on Dylan Calhoun, the OKC Regional Manager for Francis Renewable Energy.
Check out his interview below to learn more.
How long have you been a Halcyon Works member?
Tell us about your business and what you do.
I work for Francis Renewable Energy, a solar and geothermal EPC based out of Tulsa with operations in OKC and Austin, TX as well. I am the Regional Manager of OKC focusing on business development and commercial/utility scale solar systems.
What are your goals or major milestones?
FRE’s goal is to help diversify the energy landscape in Oklahoma and to educate the public on solar and geothermal systems. A major milestone for FRE will be completing our first commercial solar system in OKC, which we hope to do before the end of the year.
How do you stay engaged with your community?
I actively try and attend local networking and social events to get the word out about Oklahoma’s new but growing solar industry. I myself have created an informal meet-up, RenewaBrews, which is held at Anthem Brewery the first Thursday of every month and brings together individuals who share a passion for renewable energy, sustainability and other likeminded technologies. It was picked up by the Oklahoma Renewable Energy Council and is now an official OREC event.
What are your favorite things about being a member of Halcyon?
Some favorite things about Halcyon include the laid back vibes that the paintings and sculptures bring. It’s easy on the eyes and de-stresses me during a hectic work week. The members are also very kind and welcoming, bringing outside perspective and unbiased opinions when you need help.
Stop by to learn more about Dylan at on September 20th during our free weekly event, Halcyon Lounge.
Event Starts at 4:30pm – come get settled in a cozy desk or seat, grab a snack and a beverage! Dylan will begin speaking at 5PM and take Q&A afterwards.
